Though to be honest most of the things that were awesome about these guys were things that were awesome about the Lusitani in general: the guerrilla deployment and hiding wasn't as big a factor as the javelins. Another boon is that ranged units in Rome 2 had 33% fewer men per unit than melee units, so a melee unit who was also a great javelin unit often was as good or better than regular skirmishers. On account of having javelins and spears, it meant that your cavalry could go way out at the very start of the battle and remain protected by light javelin infantry with a melee bonus vs. They get a dirt cheap (REALLY CHEAP) spear unit that has guerrilla deployment, 80 range javelins, and hiding anywhere. The Lusitani basically saw the javelin and thought "that's a cool thing right there, give 5 to every citizen". In Rome 2 there is a faction called the Lusitani. Throw grenades, go into melee mode, charge. In Shogun 2 kisho ninjas can throw fire pots which can RAPIDLY kill expensive units they get the jump on, and if they pop out at the exact moment the rest of your army attacks you've got a good chance of assassinating the general or some other high value target held in reserve. Enter Rome: Total Realism, a massively ambitious fan-made mod that takes the original game, expands the world all the way out to India, squeezes out most of the less than realistic elements and replaces them with stuff that.
